Grandparents Rights in Utah 801-676-5506 Free Consultation

You’ve probably heard about the Grandparents visitation rights statute in the State of Utah.  It’s Utah Code 30-5-2.  However, you may not yet know that the Utah Supreme Court case of Jones v. Jones has ruled that Utah Code Section 30-5-2 is unconstitutional.  This makes getting grandparents rights a lot more difficult that it was in the past.

Watch this video for more information:

Grandparents used to be able to file a petition with the District Court and get visitation rights.  Not anymore.  I explain in this short video a few of the exceptions that would apply to allow you to get visitation rights or even custody rights of the grandchildren.

It’s important to let you know at this junction that each factual scenario is different.  Our law office has been able to get grandparent visitation rights in the past.  We’ve even been able to get custody rights of grandkids under certain circumstances as well.  It’s important that you speak with a qualified lawyer to discuss your specific situation because no two situations are the same.

One of the things we can do is speak over the phone or in person and you can tell me about the facts of your case and I can give you my candid opinion of whether or not it is even worth your time and effort to try to get grandparent visitation or custody rights.

Give my office a call 801-676-5506.  If I am unavailable, please schedule a telephone appointment of an in person meeting.  Our office has free initial consultations.
